Mike Hus

Senior Vice President, Engineering

Mike is leading a team of engineering professionals toward the successful commercial launch of the world’s first nanolayered polymer, gradient refractive index (GRIN) optical lenses. A key member of the leadership team, Mike is also responsible for the structuring of the engineering department and day-to-day operations of engineering projects.

Mike joined Peak Nano from the Dow Chemical Company, where he was the R&D M&A Integration lead for the Dow/DuPont merger and subsequent spin. Additionally, Mike was responsible for the coordination of growth innovation and cost synergies. Prior to that, Mike led the Formulation Science Interfacial Structures team, a Core R&D group focused on Mechanical Dispersions, Controlled Delivery and Release, and Designed Surfaces and Adhesion technologies. He also led the research and product development team that created the innovative Dow Powerhouse™ Solar Shingle.

Mike is a recipient of the R&D Magazine’s 100 Most Technologically Significant New Products of the Year award, Design News’ Best Product of the Year award, and the Frost and Sullivan Fabricated Plastics Process Design Technology Innovation of the Year award. Additionally, Mike was nominated for the 2017 Dow Olympus Award for Superior People Leadership and for 2007 Dow Genesis Award for excellence in people development.

Mike has lived and worked in China and the Netherlands, but currently resides in Ohio. He’s a member of the American Chemical Society, Society of Plastics Engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University.
