Maintenance Technician
Peak Nano has an immediate opening for a highly talented hands-on individual to lead equipment and facility maintenance activities. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and optimal performance of all development and production equipment and machinery within Peak Nano’s two facilities. Your primary duties will include conducting routine inspections, identifying, and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. You will collaborate closely with the development and production teams to minimize downtime, increase equipment efficiency, and contribute to the overall productivity and safety of the facility. Additionally, you will maintain accurate maintenance records, procure necessary spare parts, and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Peak Nano is focused on developing and delivering innovative, disruptive solutions to the optical lens and capacitor markets. Peak Nano’s two facility locations are in Macedonia and Valley View, OH. The primary location for the Maintenance Technician will be in the Macedonia facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on Development and Production equipment (including extrusion, molding, general machining CNC/milling machines and robotic operations) to ensure smooth operation and prevent potential breakdowns or malfunctions.
Identify and diagnose equipment issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing timely and effective repairs to minimize production downtime.
Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to understand equipment performance challenges and develop proactive solutions to improve overall efficiency and output.
Performing routine maintenance around the buildings such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
General electrical work including working on damaged electrical wiring
Conduct preventive maintenance activities, such as lubrication, cleaning, and calibration, in accordance with prescribed schedules to extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and prioritize tasks to quickly address critical issues affecting production processes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts, to facilitate efficient equipment management and tracking.
Source, order, and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels to minimize delays in repairs and maintenance.
Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures, actively participating in safety training programs, and conducting regular safety checks to create a safe work environment.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration into the production process.
Assist with any renovations, refurbishments and building projects.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in production equipment maintenance, demonstrating a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and automated machinery.
Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues, with the ability to use various tools and equipment to perform repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to equipment maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial setting, emphasizing a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Including lock-out-tag-out procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing maintenance schedules, tracking inventory, and maintaining comprehensive maintenance records effectively.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Preferred to be a certified electrician in Ohio, including those currently in the process of training to be certified.
